The dominant cultural narrative today teaches that happiness comes from discovering your true self and then having the courage to give expression to that identity. You may have to reject societal norms and expectations along the way. But no price is too steep. For authenticity is now considered the highest virtue. But in contrast, the biblical narrative teaches that happiness comes from discovering how your Creator made you and then appreciating the goodness of givenness.
