Sermon Description

As this pandemic moment prolongs into a season of uncertain length, feelings of frustration and despair are understandable. But according to 1 Thessalonians 5:18, they’re not excusable. The Lord commands our gratitude in all circumstances, including the challenging set we find ourselves in. This little verse on ceaseless gratitude has the potential to crush your spirit – unless you read it in context of the entire letter.

Sermon Description

The greater our comprehension of what God has done for us, the greater our commitment will be. God gave Himself for us in order for us to give ourselves to Him. The key to a satisfying life is not receiving more from God, but giving more to God. Total commitment requires us giving God our soul, our body, our mind, and our will.

Sermon Description

Our lives are full of ups and downs. When things are up, God tends to be put on the back burner. But when things are down, we find every reason to pout and complain. If we believe that God is good and that he gives good gifts to his children, why do we so easily forget to slow down and thank God for all the ways he provides for us? And in the midst of our busy lives, what will it take to more regularly turn our hearts back to him with thankfulness?
